🔗 Share this article The second-hand marketplace Members Voice Displeasure Regarding Sizing Changes Vinted users have been reacting angrily due to a modification that led to items being listed as the wrong size. The popular resale platform has revised its size classifications for women's and children's garments failing to inform all users about the change. Online Platforms Reaction Numerous buyers and vendors have taken to social media stating that platform listings now display an altered size classification than originally posted as a result of the reclassification. The company said the updated approach better aligns with other platforms. The platform has recommended to examine their items and update the measurements by hand when needed, causing user dissatisfaction. Size Classification Changes Before the change, the measurements included a single numeric size and a letter, for instance S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes an alphabetical indicator and numerical range for example S/UK 8-10. With some products, the measurements have been reclassified - for example a size L was formerly size 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. User Accounts One content creator, who produces content about larger sizing, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," which is what Vinted now does. A different member, from Glasgow, said garments she listed on Vinted with size 14 labels were showing in the marketplace as larger sizing 20-22. "If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they're going to be very disappointed," she explained. Required Changes Charlotte Lunn, located in England, stated she felt frustrated by the change as she had to manually change the sizing for "all her products". "For me this is particularly frustrating, because of my ongoing medical condition and selling on Vinted has been paramount following partial earnings loss," she said. Service Background The app has more than 100 million shoppers, with 18 million British users. It has emerged as a preferred choice versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This represents another occasion that an unexpected update to the app has proved unpopular: earlier, the service retracted a modification regarding delivery choices due to shopper criticism.
