Paris Saint-Germain Edges Marseille on Penalties to Claim Trophee des Champions Super Cup in the Middle East.

PSG players celebrating

PSG has now secured the prestigious trophy on 14 different occasions.

The Parisian giants needed a stoppage-time leveler followed by a successful penalty shootout to overcome their arch-rivals in Kuwait and capture a record-extending fourth consecutive French Super Cup title.

The Champions League holders appeared to be sailing towards a straightforward triumph in the match featuring the French league champions and the Coupe de France winners after Ousmane Dembele opened the net early on.

However, Marseille struck twice in the closing moments to seize a surprise lead. Initially, the English forward scored from the penalty spot, before Willian Pacho unfortunately directed the ball into his own net for an own goal.

In a remarkable twist of events, the Portuguese striker snatched a vital leveler in the final moments to send the match into a deciding shootout. The Parisian shot-stopper Lucas Chevalier then stood as the hero, saving crucial kicks from O'Riley and Hamed Traore.

In the shootout, Ramos, the midfielder, the full-back, and the young talent all scored with composure for Paris Saint-Germain to complete a convincing shootout victory.

Now 14-time winners Paris Saint-Germain, who met last season's Ligue 1 second-placed team Olympique de Marseille after achieving a league and cup double, have now won this competition for the 12th time in the past 13 years.
