Wythenshawe's squad for this campaign also features former professionals such as English and Anfield forward Emile Heskey, Hull City and Burnley winger George Boyd, Everton forward Oumar Niasse, Wigan full-back Maynor Figueroa, City pair Stephen Ireland and Nedum Onuoha and top-flight title victors Joleon Lescott and Danny Drinkwater.

Together, the former Premier League footballers have won 15 major honors and moved for combined transfer sums of approximately £123m.

Famous Names and International Stars

Stephen Ireland began turning out for the team in pre-season this summer through close mate and present team player Blake Norton, and the former Irish midfielder then asked additional ex-pros, who all compete in a midweek small-sided game, to join in.

Former Senegalese striker Niasse, who scored twelve scores in 65 Premier League games for Everton and even now goes to their home games, also had his first appearance against Collegiate OB - who are based in the city and wear an Blue training kit as their strip.

"I tell my centre-back 'I'm not staying' and that I'm just going to keep running.

"The running is what I'm after. It's enjoyable."

Along with Cisse's 6 goals on his first game, Ireland has netted eight in three games for Wythenshawe, while Boyd scored 5 on his debut appearance and Joleon Lescott, a defender by position, scored a triple in one game as a striker.

The team are top of the Top Division with three wins from three and a goal difference of +19.

Paul Barrow, thirty-eight, who plays on the flank for Collegiate OB, faced former Wigan full-back Figueroa on Sunday - and had to tell his young son who Heskey was.
